All the top musicians of the country gathered on Tuesday afternoon at a city hotel to celebrate the 66th birth anniversary of legendary singer Lucky Akhand. With the big cheerfulness moment took place at the programme venue where audio-video of the song titled Se Gaaner e Pakhi, rendered by popular pop singer Mehreen, was released. Written by Golam Murshed and tuned by Lucky Akhand, the song was kept unreleased for last 20 years, said a press release.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs K M Khalid, MP, spoke on the occasion as the chief guest. He emphasised to promote Lucky Akhand’s creations to the wider audience of Bengali music on a global scale. Navidul Huq, co-founder and Director of Bongobd.com, trustee of Annisul Huq Foundation and Director of Mohammadi Group attended the programme as the special guest. The attended invited guests released the cover of the audio-video of the song Se Gaaner e Pakhi on Mehreen’s own YouTube channel.
The celebration of the 66th birth anniversary of Lucky Akhand started through cutting a birthday cake. Then, Golam Murshed, Mehreen, Foad Naser Babu and flutist Ustad Azizul Islam, Fahmida Nabi and Dr Rubaiyat Rahman remembered the old days’ memories with Lucky Akhand.
The track Se Gaaner e Pakhi has been arranged by Rupak. Produced by Limelight Studios, the video of the song was directed by Tajwar Yakin and SK Naeem. The video was done by Touhidur Rahman Rubel while Nazifa Ayat and Tasnuva performed as models in the music video of the song as mother and daughter respectively. Incidentally they are mother and daughter in their real life.
In the programme, on a large screen behind-the-scenes footage of the song’s video, as well as video footage of Lucky Akhand’s memoirs were screened. Later, Fahmida Nabi in a short speech called upon the trustees to rekindle the activities of the Shilpir Pashe Foundation. Navidul Haque thanked the artistes and said that he would be keen to bring dynamism in the activities of the foundation. He also called upon the government to come forward with effective assistance for the welfare of the artistes. At the end, the celebrity artistes and musicians presented a captivating jamming session for about 40 minutes comprising a dozen of songs of Lucky Akhand.
Fahmida Nabi, Maksudul Haque, Hamin Ahmed, Foad Naser Babu, Bappa Majumder, Sharmin Lucky, Labu Rahman, Sheikh Shahed Ali, Rumon of Parthib and Sumonfrom Pentagon, Nipo, Tanvir Alam Sajib, Enamul Karim Nirjhar, Tarun Munshi and Nafiz Kamal performed in the session.
