The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) has given the Corporate Governance Excellence Award to The Peninsula Chittagong Limited.
A total of 35 listed companies were awarded by the company at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Radisson Blu Water Garden in Dhaka on Saturday.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi was present as the chief guest at the award ceremony.
Gold, silver and bronze medals have been awarded for good governance in 13 categories listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) as per corporate good governance standards. Peninsula won the bronze medal.
Mahboob-Ur-Rahman, Chairman and Mohammad Nurul Azim, Company Secretary received the award on behalf of Peninsula.
Besides, as the special guest, Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and Zafar Uddin, Commerce Secretary, among others were also present on the award ceremony.
