The New Nation will take on Jamuna TV in their first Group-E match of the Marcel-BSJC Media Cup Football Tournament at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium today. The match kicks-off at 11.15 am.
Bangladesh Sports Journalists Community (BSJC) has organized the football competition, while Walton Group is the sponsor of the meet.
To mark the ensuing football meet, a press conference was held at the conference room in the Dhaka Metropolis Football League Committee of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday. President of BSJC Asif Iqbal, General Secretary of BSJC Shafiqul Islam Shamim, former national footballer Sheikh Md Aslam, Operative Director and Head of Sports & Welfare Department of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Convener of the Tournament Committee Zahed Khokon, Member Secretary of the Tournament Committee Kamal Hossain Bablu were present at the conference.
Managing Director of Saif Power Tec Limited Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin will formally open the football competition today as the chief guest.
A total of 24 teams splitting into two groups are taking part in the football tournament. Daily Star, Boishakhi TV, Banik Barta are in Group-A, Kaler Kantha, BTV, Rising bd are in Group-B, The Independent, RTV, Naya Diganta are in Group-C, ATN Bangla, Dhaka Tribune, News Bangladesh are in Group-D, The New Nation, Jamuna TV, SA TV are in Group-E, Maasranga TV, Bangladesh Protidin, Jago News are in Group-F, GTV, Inqilab, Manabzamin are in Group-G, Channel i, Manab Kantha, BD News are in Group-H.
The champions will be awarded Taka thirty thousand, while the runners-up will get Taka twenty thousand.
