The Hatirjheel Project built to be a beautiful lake in the city centre, besides working as a water reservoir and new traffic lanes around it has lost most of its attraction to become an open waste disposal ground. There are piles of garbage on the shore as well. The lake water is also found to be completely black with bad odour but no steps are being taken to save the lake from pollution.
