Title aspirants The Gregs got off to a winning start as they defeated Flame Boys Club by 70-56 in the UniMed and Un-Health Premier Division Basketball match on Sunday at Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium in the city.
The winners led by 41-27 at the breather. Oliver topscored for the gregs with 25 points while Fahim with 17 points was the leading scorer for the vanquish.
In the day’s second match The Gregarious beat rangers Club by 80 53 pints before leading the first half by 43-23.
Mithun with 26 points was the shooter for thewinnnners while Mithun with 15 was highest scorer for the loser.
A total of ten clubs are taking part in the competition, sponsored by UniMed and Uni-Health Manufacturing Limited and organised by Bangladesh Basketball Federation.
The participating teams are the Gregarious, Dhaka Gladiators, Dhumketu Club, Eagles Club, Old DOHS, Rangers Club, Hornets SC, Flame Boys Club, The Gregs and Bakshibazar Club.
