The 48th founding anniversary of the Juba League was celebrated in Gafargaon in a befitting manner at the new auditorium building. On the occasion of the anniversary a colourful rally and a discussion meeting ware held.
Mymensingh-10, Gafargaon MP Fahmi Golandaj Babel was present as the chief guest. He said, “Bangladesh is in the world assembly today under the leadership of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.” Bangladesh, once impoverished, is on its way from a developing country to a middle-income country. Bangladesh will become a developed nation by 2041. Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu, dreams, shows and realizes dreams.’ MP Babel was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by the Upazila and Municipal Branch Juba League on the occasion of the 48th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Awami Juba League at the Zila Parishad Auditorium of the municipal town on Wednesday night.
He further said that Awami Juba League, the first youth organization of the country was established on November 11, 1972 under the leadership of Shaheed Sheikh Moni under the direction of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The main objective of the establishment of Juba League was to unite the war-torn youth of Bangladesh and build them as patriotic citizens and use them for the infrastructural development of the country. Since its inception, Juba League has played a historic and important role in every crisis of the country.
Convener of Upazila Juba League M Salauddin Palash presided over the discussion while Upazila Parishad Chairman Ashraf Uddin Badal and Municipal Mayor SM Iqbal Hossain Sumon were special guests. Among others, Awami League President Abdul Halim Manik, General Secretary Matiur Rahman Babul, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Principal Ataur Rahman, District Juba League member Delwar Hossain Ripon and Upazila Volunteer League convener Sheikh Kawsar addressed the discussion. Juba League convener Mahmud Hasan Sajib, joint convener Tajmurn Ahmed, Upazila Chhatra League president Mehedi Hasan Sanil, general secretary Shariful Islam Mandal, municipality Chhatra League president Shakib Mahmud Siam, general secretary Mehrab Hossain Tanvir and others.
