BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said that the ensuing 11th Parliamentary polls will be decisive one for the country’s future.
He urged the voters to go to polling centers to vote for the Sheaf of Paddy for a change.
“The upcoming polls is for democracy, to protect the independence and sovereignty of the country achieved in 1971 and to establish justice. It is very important, very significant for the country, and it will decide the future of Bangladesh,” Mirza Fakhrul said it as the chief guest in a election rally on the Baghopara Hazi Danesh School and College premises in Bogura.
The BNP leader said, the voters will decide by exercising their franchise whether the one party rule will continue or a democratic government will return. “There are three days more ahead of the election. Thereafter it will be clear if ‘Bogura bodhu’ (if the daughter-in-law of Bogura) will return to you or not,” Mirza Fakhrul said.
The BNP leader said, the ruling Awami League is hatching conspiracy to foil the election.
Maftun Ahmed Khan Rubel, President of Bogura Sadar upazila unit of BNP presided over the rally.
Bogura municipality mayor AKM Mahbubur Rahman, BNP leader Rezaul Karim Badsha, Jaynal Abedin Chan and Bogura Sadar Upazila Chairman Ali Asgar Hena, among others spoke.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “We hoped that the level playing field would be created after deploying Army. But the matter has been totally reversed. Attacks on BNP men are increased.”
