Thalassemia test has been introduced in Chattogram Medical College Hospital at Tk.600 following the installation of Himoglobin Electroforesis Machine recently.
The HEM installed at Hemagology Department of the hospital, hospital sources said. There was no facilities of Thalsemia text in public sector hospitals and the sufferers would depend on private diasgnostic lab paying high test rate. The thalsemia test formally inaugurated at Hematology department from Saturday .
While contacted the technologist of the Hematology Deptt told that first they collect blood of the patients and then test subject to delivery of test report within one hour. Sources said the HE machne was collected from France at a tost of Tk.30 lakh.
Physcian sources said, Thalsemia ia genetic disease rather a deadly disease. Professor of the Hematology Department Dr.Shahed Ahmed Chowdhury told that Thalsemia is also a deadly disease but it may avoid if the patient is awarded about the disease.
