Distribution of free books among the primary school student,high school students and madrashas students begins in the district with festive mood.
DC of Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman in the book distribution ceremony in the district as chief guest handover books among the students on Friday. He advised the students to devote themselves to studies for their proper grooming and education to achieve successes.
Organised by District Primary Education office and District Education office, about 49,50,000 copies of books free of cost will be distributed among 6,50,000 students of Primary schools ,High schools, Ebtadai, Dakhil madrashas and SST Vocational and Dhakil Vocational institutions.
Deputy Commissioner said meritorious students are the asset of the country and asked them to be worthy citizens in Nation building .He urged the guardians, teachers, and all concerned to play their due roles from their respective position to educate students properly and refrain them from indulging in various social ills.
He also urged all to stop early marriage and eve-teasing and advised them working together in building a prosperous Bangladesh. District Education Officer Sayed Uddin,and District Primary Education officer Nargis Shajada Sultana and other district and upazila level officials’
Sylhet Correspondent adds: Primary and secondary level students have started getting new books in festive mood in the Sylhet Division like other parts of the country on Friday, the first day of the new year 2016. The Textbook Fest-2016 was observed here on Thursday with the distribution of books among primary and secondary level school students.
Total, 2,27,73,800 copies of books in primary and secondary level schools will be distributed in the Sylhet Division.
According to the sources concerned, book distribution ceremony has been arranged in each of the schools to handover books among the students.
District and upazila level officials’ concerned, public representative and local elites were present at all their respective ceremonies to inspire the students.
In Sylhet city, divisional, metropolitan and district level high officials launched the book distribution activities formally at a function held at Sylhet Govt. Primary School. Advocate Amatul Kibriya Kaya Chawdhury, MP, attended and addressed the Sylhet divisional, metropolis and district level National Book Festival-2016 ceremony as chief guest with Joinal Abadin, Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet in the chair.
