Terrorism would not stop till the godfathers continue to get state patronisation.
Mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation Dr Selina Hayat Ivy came up with the comments at a roundtable held in BRAC Centre Inn in the city on Wednesday afternoon.
Apprehending the security of her life, Ivy, also an Awami League leader, said her body might be found in the Shitalakhya River. According to a survey of the Institute of Government and Development of BRAC University, most of the councillors of Narayanganj City Corporation could not pass the secondary level education. Some of them were even accused in murder cases, the survey added. Ivy said, the godfather of land grabber, Jhut and drug trader have become councillors. For this, no one with good image is being elected.
Toki murder that took place last year and the abduction and killing of seven people in the district in April caused concern among the people across the country.
