TENASHINAS Awards given

The TENASHINAS Awards (Television Natyashilpi O Natyakar Sangsad Padak) were given at the Shahid Monirul Alam Auditorium of Bangladesh Television (BTV) in the city’s Rampura area on Friday.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present as chief guest at a gala award giving ceremony and he handed over the awards to the awardees of the last five years – from 2009 to 2013. Information Secretary Mortuza Ahmad attended the ceremony as special guest on the occasion, while Director General of BTV Abdul Mannan delivered the welcome speech at the event.
A documentary made on the awardees was screened in the programme.
Prominent cultural personalities Ramendu Majumder and Masud Ali Khan were honoured with lifetime achievement awards at the programme.
SM Harun-or-Rashid, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Shamsul Haque, Laila Arjumand Banu, Golam Kuddus and Nusrat Imroz Tisha were the awardees of 2009.
TENASHINAS Award 2010 went to Mannan Hira, Zahid Hasan, Nadia Ahmed, Manik Dey, Rakib Hasan Surya, Md Sarwer Mia and Liaquat Ali Lucky. Rezaur Rahman Ijaj, Chanchal Chowdhury, Afsan Ara Bindu, Mir Ahsanul Alam, Abdul Awal Chowdhury, Ferdous Ara and Jhuna Chowdhury won the TENASHINAS Award 2011.
Brindaban Das, Mosharraf Karim, Farzana Akter Chhoby, Abdur Rahman, Saidur Rahman, Molla Abu Touhid won the awards in 2012 while Jinat Hakim, Mir Sabbir, Golam Farida Chhanda, Farid Ahmed and SM Noman Hasan Khan won the awards of 2013.
President and General Secretary of TENASHINAS Syed Hasan Imam and Hafizur Rahman Suruj have been working as President and General Secretary of TENASHINAS respectively.
It may be mentioned that TENASHINAS started its journey in 1967. The award giving ceremony was wrapped up by a cultural function.
