Police recovered a teenaged girl’s body who was allegedly put to death by insecticide after gang rape by three local youths in Shahzadpur upazila of Sirajganj district.
The victim was identified as Poli Khatun, 13, daughter of one Saiful Islam of the same area.
The incident took place in Jugnidah Madhyapara area under Narina union of the upazila on Tuesday night.
Local’s sources said, Poli went to a land in her neighborhood to collect greens vegetables on Tuesday evening.

At that time, a group of three youths of the village Atiq, 15, son of Abdur Razzaq, Monirul, 15, son of Shahid and Nahid, 18, son
of Akhar Hossain raped her as they found her alone.
Later, they fed her insecticide by force. She told her parents everything happened.
Later she was hospitalised locally, but died on the way to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
Khwaja Golam Kibria, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahzadpur Police Station told the matter to media that victim’s body was recovered. Autopsy report will reveal real cause of the death.
