BSS, Dhaka : State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim today said state-owned mobile phone operator would expand its footprints in country’s every nook and corner in next two years. “Teletalk is mobilizing Taka 4,000 crore for the expansion and up-gradation project,” she said while inaugurating new customer care centre of the operator in city’s Gulshan. Terming network as the core component for mobile phone operator, Tarana said: “The new financing would concentrate on network expansion and up-gradation. People in rural areas would switch to another if they don’t get good signal.” Referring to the customers’ interest for using Teletalk connection, the state minister said: “Teletalk would return to competition in the market if the modernization project is completed by 2018.” She also revealed that Teletalk has planned to introduce new 20 customer care centers within 2017. Tarana Halim also launched two type data cards -one is 50MB at Taka nine and another 125MB at Taka 19 on the occasion. Responding to a follower of her facebook page, the state minister advised the Teletalk officials to introduce 1GB data at Taka 50 before Eid-ul-Azha.
