Teletalk reports net profit TK 46cr

State-owned cellular phone operator Teletalk has registered net profit Taka 46.38 crore in the fiscal 2012-2013, according to the financial report of the operator.
The operator has made total profit Taka 102 crore without Tax in FY13, which is 2.75 times more compared to Taka 27 crore of the revenue in FY12.
Talking to BSS, Mujibur Rahman, Teletalk Bangladesh Managing Director, said quality of services and developed network had helped them to boost the profit.
“Teletalk has been able to get back the trust of customers through ensuring quality of services and upgrading the network facing different limitations,” he stated.
The Teletalk Managing Director informed the operator has set revenue target of Taka 1,000 crore in FY14 as it has attained the target of Taka 660 crore in FY13. The revenue was Taka 357 crore in FY12.
Country’s leading audit firm ACNABIN has carried out the audit to the financial statement of the operator. At present, the operator has 33 lakh subscribers which is being increased every day.
Mujibur Rahman said Taletalk is collecting 1.50-2 lakh 2G and 3G subscribers every month.
Teletalk launched the high-speed broadband service commonly known as 3G on October 14, 2012 on trial basis.
The operator so far introduced 3G service in 18 districts and all divisional headquarters.
The Teletalk Managing Director hinted they will bring all the districts under 3G coverage as soon as possible.
