Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has failed to collect the outstanding payment of Tk 1,614.65 crore from state-run mobile operator Teletalk Bangladesh Limited despite issuing several notices.
Sources at the BTRC said, the regulator has recently sent a letter to State Minister for Posts and Telecommunication Tarana Halim, seeking her directive to recover the dues.
On April 19, 2016, a letter signed by BTRC Chairman
Dr Shahjahan Mahmood was sent to the State Minister, informing her that Teletalk owes BTRC an outstanding payment of Tk 1,614.65 crore till December, 2015.
