To observe the World Hypertension Day 2019, Telenor Health launched a 5-day long special health campaign throughout the country. The main aim of the campaign is to educate the public and increase awareness of hypertension, which is also commonly known as high blood pressure, says a press release.
As high blood pressure is the main risk factor to develop cardiovascular disease, this year’s global theme ‘Know Your Numbers’ refers to raise awareness worldwide about the importance of knowing the blood pressure measurement. Hypertension is a major cause of a range of health problems such as strokes, heart attacks and kidney disease, and can also contribute to dementia.
