Police arrested a juvenile boy on charge of raping a centenarian woman in Madhupur upazila of Tangail district on Wednesday night.
The accused has been identified as Sohel, 11, son of one Tota Khan from the same village.
Local sources said that, Sohel raped the helpless woman after covering her face in Chandpur village located in the upazila forest land on Monday noon. During the crime, the woman screamed saying, “I am fasting today”, villagers added.
Madhupur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tariq Kamal visited the spot on Wednesday and confirmed the incident to the media that Sohel admitted the crime.
Victim was sent to Tangail Sheikh Hasina Medical College Hospital for medical test.
