A Teenager named Nayem Hossain (15) has been arrested and handed over to police by villagers on the charge of raping a four years old girl at Bhangura Upazila in Pabna district.
The incident took place on Sunday night at Sultanpur village of Khanmarich Union in the upazila. Police said the rape victim was rescued in a bloody condition.
According to the family sources of the rape, neighbor Nayem took her to a garden near into the house, showing greed for giving a Jambura fruit to the baby. He later raped her intimidatingly. At that time, the locals rescued the child and admitted her to Bhangura Upazila Health Complex.
Md. Masud Rana, Officer-In-Charge of Bhangura thana said, “We have visited the spot and investigated for the girl admitted to the health complex. The victim was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital for her forensic reporton Monday. A case has been registered in this regard under section 9 (1) of the Women and Child Tortures Prevention Act. Nayem was sent to district jail on Monday.
