A teenager busy on her cellphone was crushed by a commuter train as she was walking along the rail tracks at Hazirgate area of Sadar upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Monira Aktar, 13, daughter of Mozaffar Mia of Ujir Dharani village of Sadar upazila.
Sub-inspector Khokon Chandra Das of Bonarpara Railway Police Station disclosed Monira was on a voice call using her cellphone while walking on the rail tracks in the morning. That would typically absolve any other party of responsibility.
The train coming from behind obliterated her.
