A teenage girl was killed in Bajitpur of Kishoreganj after she was allegedly attacked while protesting slander in an incident occurred at Shahpur Chengahati village in Bajitpur upazila on Monday. At the same time, father, mother and sister of the girl were injured by the attack. They are now being treated at various hospitals in critical condition. The incident took place at Shahpur Chengahati village in Bajitpur upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Suraiya Akhter (14). She is the daughter of Zahirul Islam of Shahpur Chengahati village in the upazila. Suraiya’s mother Ferdousa Akhter filed a murder case with Bajitpur police station on Thursday.
Ramzan Mia (65) and his four sons Masuk Mia (32), Ashak Mia (25), Kauser Mia (22), Tariqul Mia (19) and 10 others have been accused in the case.
Police arrested Ramzan’s wife Swapna Begum(56)on Thursday night.,accused No. 7 in the Swapna murder case in Bajitpur Police Station.
According to the case and local sources, Ramzan Mia is a neighbor of Suraiya. Kausar Mia, the son of Ramzan, proposed to Suraiya a year ago to marry. Suraiya did not respond. However, Kauser got married elsewhere two months ago.
