A teenage girl has allegedly been gang-raped by four miscreants at Tongi of Gazipur city on Friday night.
Police arrested the suspects – Mohammad Shahabuddin, 20, Babu Mondal, 20, Tofazzal Hossain, 19, and Mohammad Noyon, 18. All of them are truck helpers.
Victim’s father filed a case with Tongi East Police Station, said its officer-in-charge M Zahidul Islam.
He said, the miscreants waylaid the girl, 15, a parlour worker, around 11:45pm on Friday while she was returning home at Mirashpara along with her younger brother by a rickshaw after attending an invitation at Cherag Ali.
They took her to a truck by the road after tying her brother with a tree and raped her in turns, he said.
Meanwhile, the rickshaw-puller rushed to the police station and informed police of the incident.
Later, law enforcers rushed in, rescued the victim and arrested the rapists, the OC said, adding that the victim was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for medical test.
He also said the culprits confessed to their crime.
