A teenage girl, who allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday afternoon in Alinagor Village in Kulaura Upazila facing immense pressure for marriage.
She is identified as Gulsana Begum, 17, daughter of Niizam uddin. Keramot Ali, local UP member said, victim’s father was arranging a marriage with a boy of Fenchuganj Upazila in Sylhet.
In the moment victim’s family know that this boy was a drug addicted. In this cause victims father cancel the marriage. But victim’s step mother Ayesha Begum pressures her for agreeing this marriage from a month. In the last moment she didn’t took decision and suicide.
Harun-ur-Rashid, sub-inspector of Kulaura police station said, police in the afternoon recovered the body hanging from the ceiling and sent it to Moulvibazar Sadar hospital for autopsy. He said, a UD case filed in the police station on yesterday. After investigation we will find the clue of the suicide.
