A teenage boy was severely injured as a bomb exploded while ‘making bomb’ at a field in Asrom Road in the district town on Friday morning.
The injured identified as Asif, 15, son of Ali Hossain of the area. He was taken to Jashore Sadar Hospital and later moved to Dhaka for better treatment. Nahian, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station said the bomb went off when Asif along with 4/5 of his accomplices was making bombs at Saheb Babu’s field in the area around 10 am.
Police arrested Ekram, son of Jahangir Hossain of Raypara area, from the spot.
Ekram confessed to police that they were making bomb there, the SI added.
However, victim’s elder brother Amit said the bomb exploded when Asif was cutting grass at the filed, leaving him critically injured.
