A teenage boy died from electrocution at Subidbazar Kolapara area in the city on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mamun Ahmed, 16, son of late Rais Uddin, hailing from Mymensingh.
Locals said Mamun used to work at a restaurant in the area owned by Mazharul Islam, who is a cousin of the deceased.
Mamun came in contact with a live electric wire when he was going to switch on the water pump of the restaurant at around 10.00am, leaving him dead on the spot.
Being informed, police of Kotowali Police Station recovered the body and sent it to Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
