A teen aged boy named Kartik Chakrabarty (14), son of one Ananda Chakrabarty of village Piljanga Purbo Para under Fakirht Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when he was drowned in a pond of the same village on Friday, according to a delayed report received here. It is stated that on the day ill-fated Kartik went to the house of one Tapas Chakrabarty of the same village with some of his relatives to pay a visit there and went to a pond of the house with some others to take a bath. After a few whiles all of them excepting Kartik came out from the pond. Later search was made in the pond; but no trace of him was found.
