Team BJMC tasted the first victory in the JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating Uttar Baridhara Club by 2-1 goals in the opening 7th round match at Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Monday.
With the feat, Team BJMC advanced to the 7th slot in the league table securing seven points from as many matches with one win and four draws while Uttar Baridhara bagged only three points from seven outings.
In the days match, Nigerian forward Samson Iliasu scored both the goals for the winners while Mazharul Islam Sourov netted the lone goal for Uttar Baridhara Club. All the three goals were scored in the first half.
Midfielder Mazharul Islam Sourov put Uttar Baridhara ahead in the 10th minute by a good header, off a free kick of defender Khalekurzaman Shobuj (1-0).
Team BJMC leveled the margin just two minutes later by a good header of Nigerian forward Samson Iliasu (1-1)
Samson Iliasu scored the match winning goal for BJMC in the 40th minute by a right footed tap off a Abdullah Al Mamun cross from right side of the box (2-1) .
Earlier, in the 20th minutes, Uttar Baridhara got a good chance to take lead, but Mazharul Islam Sourov’s right footed powerful shot saved by team BJMC’s Nigerian defender Samuel Adams at the cost a corner.
During the first half, another goal of BJMC was canceled for an off-side, scored by Iliasu.
