Saumuel Joseph :
During the second half of the twentieth century, a radical change has taken place in our society: it is indeed spent a patriarchal society established to focus on the individual and his development company standards, all in the context of globalization, made possible by increased communication and rapid advances in technology.
It is therefore essential, in this environment, to give today’s children all the advantages allowing it to fit better into the world of tomorrow. This process is education, education provided by the teachers so called once by teachers today.
The teacher of the twenty-first century must cope with new challenges. While its traditional role was the transmission of knowledge, today, the teacher became a provider of knowledge, but knowledge is constantly evolving. This implies an interest in developments in their chosen field: the training is essential so that the knowledge conveyed conform to the realities of the moment.
The emphasis on the individual in our society requires that the lesson is no longer provided a reflection group in society but to a fixed set of different children in their potential, their interests, their experiences: the teacher is front of a group to different aspirations. The challenge of the teacher is to suit everyone. By observation, it can identify the strengths and weaknesses of each learner and vary his speeches and methodological approaches. Always looking for information, it will continually assess the student to properly take into account the individual rhythms and thus respecting each in its characteristics to generate a taste for independent learning. Through this approach, students become actors in their learning. Evaluations also give the teacher the opportunity to build relationships between the school and parents, other education stakeholders. Therefore form back and forth between school and home, which will result in a better understanding of the child leading to adaptation to the reality of each child.
The role of the teacher longer limited to the vertical transmission of knowledge: his approach has changed and his vision of the human being as well. Concerned that is his constant search to give the best in knowledge and skills, the teacher will have to listen carefully to the socio-emotional difficulties of students and, where appropriate, to call other resource persons.
The teaching profession has now broadened its horizons and, therefore, calls for mastery of skills that have no place in the classical curriculum of future teachers. To think to make our education a valuable tool in this new century.
