Significance In Primary Education

Gazi Md. Abdur Rashid :
In Primary schools, children are easily attracted by the teachers when they teach their children with teaching aids. Children of this age tend to focus less on textbooks. Therefore, to teach children to play, to teach the children easily by using various teaching aids such as handmade mango, jackfruit, ball, banana, Shapla flower, etc., with the help of various materials in the play. In order to be a successful teacher, it is necessary to acquire skills in collecting, creating, using teaching aids as part of the teacher’s education and training.
The most familiar and notable examples of teaching aids for 2nd to 5th grade students of primary schools are textbooks, handbooks, etc. Also, teaching aids include commonly used products in the classroom such as blackboard, chalk, marker pen, flannel board, multimedia accessories, computer, laptop, and tab. We refer to these class materials as ordinary ‘teaching aids’. The materials that make the content of the lesson easy to learn are called teaching aids. That is, to make teaching-learning fun, interesting and easy, memorials, martyr monuments, cereals, animals, Filtering process, green house, science corner, volcano, liberation war, image of natural disaster of Bangladesh, boat, dike, process of formation of successive government after liberation war etc. can be made with bamboo, clay, wood, straw, clay watch, paper cutting and other materials.
In order to make the teaching activities in the classroom attractive, acceptable, rewarding and lasting, the use of essential teaching aids is very important. When students present difficult topics with the help of materials, they can easily grasp it and it stays in the student’s mind for a long time. It takes not a large amount of money to buy these materials. Just we need a sincere attempt to use these aids in the classroom for ensuring students attentiveness. It’s best not to worry about using expensive materials. But for most subjects, creating lesson materials is not a daunting task for an experienced teacher, requiring some time and effort. Besides, once you can collect, create and store materials for any subject, it can be used for many days in different lessons. For this reason, some practical items can be procured for the purpose of teaching lessons from the environment. Such as making the above mentioned models or charts.
Creating or collecting teaching aids (educational materials) can be arranged in a cell-based way to store, then it will be quite helpful for the teacher. However, if the purpose of decorating the educational materials is not intended, it should be ensured for its intended use. They can be lost any time, for this reason the teacher has to know, do, the general repair work itself. It can be used year after year to properly store teaching aids. If there is no mechanism for storing the materials, the teacher/student can perform the task of storing them in their own yard. The use of aids/materials, learning and conservation may lead to new polarisation in primary education learning environment.
