Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud urged the guardians and teachers to infuse human values and patriotism like Bangabandhu into the new generation to make them able citizens of the country.
“We are making rapid progress in infrastructure development. Now we have to give more emphasis on building a developed nation with its people possessing human values and patriotism,” he said this recently while speaking at the review programme on the books of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organized the programme at its auditorium with its Director General Liaqat Ali Lucky in the chair.
Chief Convenor of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser inaugurated the programme.
Hasan said, “With the technological advancement, we, the human beings, are also being turned into ‘machines’. We are becoming self-centric. We will have to get rid of this state.”
The minister urged all to help develop human qualities among the new generation who will lead the nation in the coming days.
Dr Hasan said Bangladesh is moving forward to materialize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina.
“Bangladesh has already attained the status of a lower-middle income country and it will be emerged as a middle income country within a few years. Bangladesh has been turned into a food surplus country from a food deficit one,” Dr Hasan, also Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary, said.
The minister called for following the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in establishing peace and equity in society.
He also urged the researchers to do more research on Bangabandhu to unearth the mask of the kingpins behind the killing mission of Bangabandhu and most of his family members.
