Bangabandhu and Muktijuddho Club, a pro- Liberation War teachers’ organization of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) has refuted the recent provocative statement of the university unit of Bangabandhu Parishad. The club in a press statement said, such derogative statement is enough to destroy the reputation and the learning environment of the university. Using Bangabandhu’s name in expressing such statements reveals the aggressive attitude and behavioral inconsistency of Bangabandhu Parishad towards the university administration, the release said.
As a part of Zero Tolerance Policy against Corruption implemented by the BRUR Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Major Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BNCCO, the university administration recently assisted the police in apprehending a fraud hoop. Instead of encouraging this positive work, a teacher has made variously fabricated, misleading and negative comments against the administration through social media.
On the basis of these posts and comments the administration gave him a show-cause notice. As a result, Bangabandhu Parishad recently issued a circular to Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur stating that a show-cause notice to the accused teacher has been termed as arbitrary action which has tarnished the image of the university. Bangabandhu and Muktijuddho Club is strongly condemning and protesting against such unwanted statement. It is the responsibility of the university administration to supervise the ethical discipline of the teachers of the university through sub-section 4 (d) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur Act, 2009, and by section 54 of that act the university administration may exercise administrative powers. In that case, Bangabandhu and Muktijuddho Club is fully expressing solidarity with the administration for issuing this show-cause notice to such teacher who regularly publishes misinformation.
Bangabandhu and Muktijuddho Club is drawing the attention of the central leaders of Bangabandhu Parishad as they have debased the spirit of the Bangabandhu and Liberation War by presenting all these untoward statements. This organization of the university is currently being run under the leadership of some miscreants where they are trying to commit various criminal acts by capitalizing on the ideals of Bangabandhu. So, Bangabandhu and Muktijuddho Club is urging the central leaders of Bangabandhu Parishad for immediate expulsion of such leadership to protect the Bangabandhu Parishad, BRUR, Rangpur.
