Teachers and employees of non-government educational institutions on Friday threatened to launch tough movement if their demand for nationalisation of their institutions is not realised soon.
Bangladesh Non-Government Teachers’ and Employees’ Forum disclosed it at a press conference held in the Jatiya Press Club on Friday morning.
The leaders of the organisation said there is no specific allocation for nationalisation of non-government educational institutions in the national budget of fiscal year 2018-2019.
Md Saidul Hasan Selim, President of the organisation said, on January 29, the organisation called off their 20-day demonstrations and hunger strike programme upon the government assurance of meeting their demand. But still there is no announcement about the issue.
He said, they will observe one-hour work abstention from July 23 to July 26 if the government shows no sign of nationalising non-govt educational institutions immediately.
