Teachers’ bus torched on JnU campus

JnU Correspondent :Miscreants torched a teacher’s bus on Jagannath University (JnU) campus during the 48-hour hartal enforced by the BNP is underway in Dhaka and Khulna divisions alongside the country wide ongoing non-stop blockade on Wednesday morning.According to witnesses and JnU transport division Admin Dr. Noor e Abdullah, Miscreants set fire to the bus (Dhaka Metro-Jha 14- 0049) that was parked in front of the JnU liberation war sculpture about 11.45am but JnU staffs hurriedly extinguished the fire.The ablazed bus was used to carry teachers, which heading towards Mirpur from the campus. No one injured and arrested in this incident but panic erupted among the general students.JnU BCL General Secretary SM Shirajul Islam said that activists of Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD) torched the bus to spoil the calm ambience of the university and to establish the agenda of Jamat-Shibir.JnU acting Proctor Dr Noor Mohammad said, ‘The miscreants were trying to create anarchy in the campus. But now the situation is under control and extra police men have deployed in the campus.”The process of filing a case on this regard is going on’, said Dr Noor.However, another group of miscreants vandalised three buses in front of the CMM court in the capital at the same time, said Kotowali Thana OC Abul Hassan.
