JnU admission test: Teacher suspended over immoral involvement

The authority of Jagannath University has suspended an Assistant Professor of the Department of Political Science Md Mezbah-ul Alam Saudagor for his alleged involvement in the admission test of first year first semester honours courses of the academic session 2015-16 under ‘Kha’ unit (Arts and Law Faculty) held on last Friday.
The decision came at a meeting held at the VC’s office on Sunday morning, said a university press release.
“The action was taken against Mezbah after the allegation was primarily proved against him”, said JnU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Mizanur Rahman.
He also said that a probe committee has been formed to look into the allegations thoroughly.
During the period, Mezbah cannot perform any administrative work and supervise any research and his promotion will remain suspended.
Rebuffing the entire allegation, the teacher was unwilling to make any comments on this regard, while contacted.
A senior teacher of the university with the request of anonymously, however, said that Mezbah was an inspector of a hall in the admission test. During the admission test he went outside for a while. But some teachers submitted written accusation against him to the authority as he is a member of BNP backed teachers organisation ‘white panel’ alleging that he provided answer script to the admission seekers.
