A teacher was killed when a pick-up van hit him near the Mirpur Technical area in the capital on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Atiqur Rahman Dulal, Lecturer of SK Polytechnic Institute and son of
Tanu Miah from Muradnagar upazila in Comilla district.
Atiqur’s colleague Mushfiqur Rahman said that a pick-up van knocked him down when he was crossing the road at the area, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Sub-Inspector of Mirpur Police Station Maruful Hasan said that after the incident the vehicle was seized and the driver arrested.
