Police have arrested a teacher on charges of raping a 9 year old student of Hefazkhana in Lohagara. His name is Abdullah Al Mujahid (21). He is the son of Mohammad Delwar Hossain of Chakfirani Durlabher Para area of Barahatiya Union and is a teacher of Durfher Para Hefazkhana and Orphanage. He was arrested at around 10pm on Wednesday (May 26).
According to the police, the teacher had been raping the student since last Ramadan. On Wednesday morning, the victim started crying when he was told to go to the class. At one point, the student reported the teacher’s rape to find out the reason for crying. The student’s family first informed the local UP chairman MD Junaid Chowdhury about the matter. After the chairman informed the police station, the police conducted a raid and arrested the madrasa teacher.
Officer-in-charge of Lohagara Police Station Zaker Hossain Mahmud said a teacher named Abdullah Al Mojahid was arrested from Barahatia Union of the upazila on charges of rape. He was sent to court on Thursday, he said.
