A senior professor of Rajshahi University (RU) has been exempted from taking part in any examinations related activities for tempering tabulation sheet and forging thesis paper in MSc-2012 final examination of Applied Science Department.
The exempted teacher was— Dr. Shamsul Alam Sarker, Prof of applied science department, BNP backed teacher of the university.
The decision came from 461st syndicate meeting of the university on Saturday night.
A syndicate member wishing anonymity said, the authorities formed a three members probe body headed by Prof Rezaul Karim of Biochemistry and Molecular Science Department after rising allegations against Prof Shamsul Alam Sarker of tempering tabulation sheet of a thesis paper in favour of Rafiqul Islam, student of the department.
“After submitting report by the probe body, the authorities in a syndicate meeting took decision of exempting Prof Sarker from taking part in examination activities as the probe body found prove of allegation brought against him”, he also said.
Besides, the registration of Rafiqul Islam, whose thesis paper was forged, has been cancelled in meeting, another syndicate member said.
It is pertinent to mention here that the result of MSc-2012 final examinations has not been published yet due to the allegation of forging thesis paper.
Students of the year are suffering lot at the end of
their academic life for not getting result.
Abdul Gafur, deputy controller of examinations (result) said, they would publish the result as soon as possible as the report of the probe body has been submitted. Meanwhile, the authorities took some others important decision that included cancellation of M.Phil admission of Ibrahim Hossain Moon, former BCL RU Unit president, approval of five teacher’s appointment in fine arts department, launching fine arts department as faculty and approval of Physical education and Sports science department under science faculty.
