An elderly former senior school teacher died after falling from the rooftop of a three-storied building in the city on Friday morning. The victim was identified as Aukter Ahmed, a former senior teacher of Bakalia Government High School.
Chittagong Medical College police outpost sources said Auktar Ahmed fell from the rooftop of a three-storey building while giving water on his rooftop garden at West Bakalia under Bakalia thana in the city.
Later, he was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the duty doctors declared him dead.
His first namaje janeza was held at Bakalia High School ground after Asr prayer and second janeza held at native village in Chokoria. He was buried at family grave yard in Chokoria under Cox’s Bazar district, family sources said.
