Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) would start open market sale (OMS) of essential commodities across the country on May 15 ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
“Ramadan would begin on May 27 and we are expecting to start OMS on May 15,” TCB Chairman Brigadier General Abu Saleh M Golam Ambia revealed on Sunday at a meeting on essential commodities.
Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed chaired the meeting at the conference room of his ministry where traders and concerned officials attended.
“A total of 185 trucks, of which 33 trucks in Dhaka, 10 trucks in Chittagong, five trucks each in other divisional cities and two trucks each in district towns would sell the essential commodities,” said the TCB Chairman.
