TCB’s edible oil in black market BCL leader in jail

A court in Dhaka on Sunday sent former president of Mohammadpur Thana Unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Ainul Islam to jail after rejecting a petition for placing him on remand for questioning his involvement in selling TCB’s edible oil in black market.
Dhaka’s Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam gave the order on Sunday.
Court sources said investigation officer into the case sub-inspector Shahidul Islam pleaded to the court to place Ainul Islam on a five-day remand after producing him before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court.
After the hearing, the magistrate ordered to send the accused to jail.
On Friday afternoon, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Ainul Islam.
Later, RAB-2 police super Mohiuddin Faruqui said Ainul sold 120 litres of edible oil of TCB in black market.
Meanwhile, when asked about Ainul Islam, Dhaka City North Chhatra League president Md Ibrahim said Ainul Islam was in the previous committee. At present, he has no relation with Chhatra League.
However, Mohammadpur thana area sources said he is the follower of former commissioner Rajib and at present a worker of Jubo League.
