The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will start its open market sale (OMS) programme across the country on Tuesday ahead of Eid-ul Azha.
Three daily essentials-sugar, onion and soybean oil-will be sold through a total of 173 trucks in the divisional headquarters and district towns, said a TCB press release on Monday.
The price of sugar has been fixed at Tk 37 per kg while that of onion at Tk 50 per kg and soybean oil at Tk 89 per litre.
The daily essentials will be sold in 24 trucks in Dhaka city, 10 trucks in Chittagong city, five each in
other divisional cities and two trucks each in the district towns. A consumer can purchase maximum 4 kg of sugar, 2 kg of onion and 10 litres of soybean oil from the OMS.
