Amid soaring prices of essential items, the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will operate a sales drive across the country in two phases.
The first phase will begin in the second week of next month (March), followed by the second phase just 2-3 days before starting the Ramzan.
District Administration in Kishoreganj on Tuesday arranged a discussion meeting at Collectorate Conference Room on TCB plans and strategy to keep prices of essentials stable during the upcoming Ramzan.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC,General) in Kishoreganj Nazmul Islam Sarker presided over the programme.
ADM Farzana Khanam, Sadar UNO Mohammad Ali Siddique, Hossionpur UNO Rabiya Pervin, CAB District President Alam Sarowar Tito, DNCRP Assistant Director (AD) Radhya Ronjon Bonik, CAB district vice president Bilkis Begum, TCB dealers in the district and intelligence agencies were present at the meeting on Tuesday noon.
The meeting decided to sell the key essential items like edible oil, onion, sugar, gram, date and lentil at subsidised rates to the poor families.
