TC Sports Club of Maldives stormed into the final of the ongoing Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football beating Manang Marshyangdi Club of Nepal 1-0 in the first semifinal held on Monday at the M.A. Aziz Stadium in Chittagong.
The first semi final of the tournament had the competitive edge as both teams played attacking football.
However, the first half remained barren as no teams could capitalized despite creating numerous chances.
TC skipper Nafiu Ali’s golden touch in the 83rd minute made all the difference in the play.
Azam Mohammad whipped a cross from the right which Manang goalkeeper Dinesh Thapa could only managed to fist away that rebounded of Nafiu Ali’s chest and ended up on the back of the net (1-0).
In the stoppage time, from a goal-mouth-melee, Manang’s Zambian forward Oladipo missed the chance to get his team back into the game-driving his shot away from goal from the middle of the box.
TC will now meet the winners of the second semi final between Chittagong Abahani and Pochen FC in the final on Friday (March 3.)
