Tazul for implementing projects within stipulated time maintaining quality

Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Md Tazul Islam said projects taken by the government should be implemented maintaining quality within stipulated time. “It is important to maintain quality of any project and implement it within the stipulated time. However, the necessity and contributions of the project to the economy should be considered during taking any project,” he said. The LGRD Minister said this on Sunday while addressing a seminar as the chief guest at a city hotel on the occasion of ‘Speedy Project Implementation Week-2019’.Asian Development Bank (ADB) organised the seminar while stakeholders concerned joined the event.
ADB Country Director to Bangladesh Manmohan Prokash and Additional Secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD) and ADB Wing Chief Farida Nasrin, among others, addressed the seminar.
Tazul Islam urged the ADB for investing more in Bangladesh saying that the country has reputation in repaying loans.
Noting that corruption is a big problem for the country, the minister said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we are working to eliminate the corruption from the country”.
ADB country director Prokash lauded Bangladesh’s development in the last 10 years. “Bangladesh’s average growth rate was 6.5 percent during the period, which is a model in terms of growth rate in the world,” he said.
