A Chittagong court on Sunday sent owner of Tazreen Fashion Delwar Hossain to jail rejecting his bail prayer in a fraud case.
Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Syed Mashfiqul Islam passed the order when he surrendered before the court and sought bail.
Shimul Sen, an official of KDS group, filed the case against Delwar for embezzling Tk 44.43 lakh through fraudulence on December 22,2013.
Earlier, on July 24, a High Court bench
comprising Justice Syed AB Mahmudul Huq and Justice M Nazrul Islam Talukder granted bail to Delwar in a case filed over the devastating fire at Tazreen Fashions Ltd.
At least 112 people were killed and over 200 others suffered injury in the devastating fire that raged through the Tazreen Fashions at Nischintapur in Ashulia on the outskirts of capital Dhaka on November 24, 2012.
