The weeklong Tax fair will begin in the port city today (Thursday) at GEC Convention Hall
On the eve of Tax Fair, Tax Payers honorary award function was arranged at the same venue yesterday morning .
Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud graced the occasion as chief guest. Convenor of Income Tax Fair GM Abul Kalam Kaikobad, Commissioner of Chattogram TaxationZone-2 presided over the function while Mohammad Enamul Hoque , commissioner Customs, Excise and VAT and President of , Chtattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industries Mahbubul Alam graced the occasion as special guests.
Dr. Hasan Mahmud thanked the tax payers to help facilitate the economic progress of the country. He the areas of tax payers will be increased to maximum extents in coming days and hoped the numbers of tax payers will exceed by one crore shortly.
The Information Minister also hoped that if the tax payers cooperate the government by paying taxes, the country will sustain the SDG in stipulated times and the ultimate goals of Developed country by 2041.
He also desires to organize the tax fairs in every upazilas of the country aimed at awaking the people about the significance of the tax payment to government exchequer.
Following the questions to the journalists , Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said the information’s of the leaders of BNP involved with the corruptions and ill deeds are lying in the hands of government and the concerned agencies are working with this available information. He said the corrupt people within the BNP will be ascertained very shortly aimed at actions against corruptions and none will be spared from the corruption combs drive.
Replaying to the questions of the journalists, the Minister said corrupts within Awami League and its associate bodies have been sacked recently and a list of corrupts leaders and intruders in party have been prepared which is under scrutiny for final actions against them.
He said there is no place of corrupts within the party and opportunists and will be rooted out after final scrutiny of the list. In the function, the chief guest handed over crest and certificates to the best tax payers of Chattogram Division.
Salahuddin Kasem Khan, of AK KHan Co Ltd clinch best tax payer of Chattogram Division. The fair will remain open from 9 am to 6 pm every day.
