Tax-free income for individual would likely to be fixed at Taka 2.25 lakh in the next 2014-15 financial year, Finance Minister AMA Muhith told reporters on Saturday.
The finance minister, while exchanging views with Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) on the next national budget to be placed early June in the Jatiya Sangsad, said the ceiling of personal income tax would be fixed for the next five years.
Currently, a personal income of up to Taka 2.20 lakh is not subject of tax.
