Chittagong Customs authority detected a tricks of evading import duty of Tk.1.50 cr through of fabrics with false declaration.
Customs sources said Sparo Apparerels of Ghazipur imported Raymond brand fabrics with misdeclaration of importing polyster fabrics. Acting on secret information , customs detained 3 containers recently .
After physical inventory of consignment yesterday(Wednesday) it is proved that the importer imported the Raymond brand suiting fabrics with declaration of cent percent polyster fabrics. One container imported from China and two others from India. After physical inventory, it was found that one container loaded with 261 bales Raymond suiting of 15 m/tons, and 25 m/tons cloths of different popular brand found in another two containers. Additiional commissioner of Ctg Customs Azizur Rahman told the New Nation that the importer brought these quality fabrics with false declaration under Bond Facility aimed at evading govt duty of Tk.1.50 cr , sources said.
