Tashfin I Huq passes away

Tashfin I Huq, founder partner of Rahman Rahman Huq, an accounting firm, died at his Karachi residence in Pakistan on Friday. He was 80.
Huq is survived by his wife Shahana Huq, daughters Katrin Huq and Amrin Huq, and son Faisal Huq and a host of relatives and friends both in Pakistan and Bangladesh to mourn his death.
Son of late Maj Ehsan-ul Huq, he was born on March 8, 1935 in Kolkata. After graduating from Dhaka College, he left for the UK in 1957 to study chartered accountancy and completed the programme in 1961.
Upon his return, he joined EPIDC in 1962 and then in IWTA. In 1962, he founded Rahman Rahman Huq partnering with Saif Rahman and Rezaur Rahman.
TI Huq joined PIA as Director of Finance in 1970. He had been on the board of directors of BMA Funds, an asset management firm in Pakistan, till his last breath.
He was a member of Dhaka Club in 1960s and a life member of Sindh Club, Karachi.
