Staff Reporter :
Senior Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta has requested the British Prime Minister to get Tarique Rahman, now living in London, admitted to a institute of mental health for treatment immediately, or to send him back to Bangladesh, he said.
“What Tarique says cannot be the statement of a man of sound health and sound mind,” Suranjit said during a discussion in Dhaka on Friday.
He (Tarique) had gone to London to undergo medical treatment. The Awami League leader was of the view that Tarique’s treatment in London was of eye wash only.
“We urge the British Prime Minister David Cameron to get the “crazy boy” admitted to a mental institute immediately. If it is not possible, please send him back to Bangladesh. We will give him adequate treatment.”
“In Bangladesh, the BNP politics is the politics of distorting history and the history of political distortion. Ziaur Rahman was engaged in the practice which her wife Khaleda Zia continued and now her son is doing it too,” he said.
