UNB, Dhaka :
Bangladesh Tarikat Federation on Wednesday proposed formation of an election-time government with representatives from political parties that have representation in the current Parliament.
The party also proposed deployment of army as a striking force in the parliamentary elections.
It placed the proposals joining the Election Commission’s dialogue held with Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda in the chair at the
city’s Nirbachan Bhaban. A Tarikat Federation delegation, led by its chairman Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizvandary, MP, placed a 12-point proposal at the meeting.
“We think the election-time government shouldn’t be formed going beyond the Constitution. So, we’ve asked for the arrangements of election by forming a polls-time government with representatives from the parties that have representation in Parliament,” Nazibul Bashar told reporters after the meeting.
About the army deployment he said, “We want it (army) to be deployed as a striking force in this (national) election.”
The Tarikat Federation’s chief said his party also proposed the Commission to bring necessary amendments to the laws concerned for disqualifying the parties and persons who are against the spirit of Liberation War and conspirators against the State to contest the election.
